CRPS
CRPS, Common Redundant Power Supply, is a hot-swap server power module standard. Intel specifies 73.5 mm wide modules, 185 or 265 mm long.
CRPS stands for Common Redundant Power Supply, a standard outline and connector for hot-swap server power supply modules. Intel publishes hardware and firmware requirements for CRPS suppliers, and supply makers build modules to that outline. The module plugs into the system through a card edge connector and reports over PMBus. The Open Compute Project's DC-MHS family includes a modular version, M-CRPS.
Intel's P4000IP server specification, revision 1.2 from March 2014, describes a 750 W CRPS module as a 39/40 mm by 73.5 mm by 185 mm enclosure with one 40 mm fan and a 2x25 card edge connector. The same specification puts its 1200 W and 1600 W modules in a 265 mm length. Advanced Energy lists its CSU series in the 1U by 73.5 mm by 185 mm CRPS form factor, from 550 W to 2400 W. OCP's DC-MHS page lists M-CRPS design specifications, labeled release candidates, at 185 by 60 mm and 185 by 73.5 mm.
When replacing a module, match wattage first, then confirm airflow direction and input voltage range on the label. A shared outline lets different makers fill the same slot, but the label rating decides whether the module suits the chassis.
