NVIDIA Quadro
Quadro was NVIDIA's workstation GPU brand. It became Quadro RTX, then RTX A-series, RTX Ada Generation and RTX PRO.
NVIDIA Quadro was the brand for NVIDIA's professional workstation GPUs, used for CAD, simulation and content work. NVIDIA ran the name for over 20 years and now states that its professional visualization products carry the NVIDIA RTX name. The line ran through Quadro RTX on Turing, the RTX A-series on Ampere, RTX Ada Generation, and RTX PRO on Blackwell. NVIDIA lists Quadro as legacy.
NVIDIA announced the Quadro RTX 8000, 6000 and 5000 at SIGGRAPH on August 13, 2018. The RTX 8000 had 48 GB of memory and 4,608 CUDA cores, and the RTX 6000 had 24 GB. NVIDIA's own chart follows the 6000 slot through Quadro M6000, Quadro P6000, Quadro RTX 6000, RTX A6000, and RTX 6000 Ada Generation. The RTX 6000 Ada has 48 GB of GDDR6 with ECC and a 300 W maximum. The RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition has 96 GB of GDDR7 with ECC, and a 600 W maximum.
Read a Quadro listing by its model number and generation. A Quadro P6000, a Quadro RTX 6000 and an RTX A6000 are three different cards in the same slot. Treat a Quadro-branded quote as older stock and compare it with the RTX replacement NVIDIA names.
