SKU

A SKU, stock keeping unit, is the code a manufacturer or reseller assigns to one specific, orderable version of a product. It's how inventory and pricing systems tell apart configurations that share a marketing name but differ in capacity, region, or bundle.

Samsung's PM9A3 data center SSD ships in U.2 capacities from 960 GB up to 7.68 TB. Each capacity is its own SKU under the same family name. A server barebone works the same way. The chassis and motherboard carry one SKU on the price list. The same chassis preconfigured with a specific CPU and memory bundle carries a different one, even though a buyer could assemble the identical system by hand.

Quote and order by SKU, never by product name alone. Two listings can carry the same name over a different spec underneath, a lower endurance rating or a missing accessory kit. The SKU is the only field that reliably separates them.
